OPR provides orthotic and/or prosthetic needs analysis for those who need to know the costs which will occur over a particular person's lifetime for attaining and maintaining orthotic or prosthetic products and services.
For example: If a person is injured in an accident and sustains the loss of a limb, some of the questions they most frequently ask are: "What does an artificial limb cost?" "How often does the limb need to be replaced?" and "What will this cost over my expectant lifetime?" The answers to those questions vary depending upon each particular person's needs according to their level of amputation, age, activity level, occupation, general health, etc.
OPR can provide a detailed report based upon a person's particular needs, the costs of orthotic and/or prosthetic device(s), supplies, and services over the individual's lifetime expectancy.
The Needs Analysis report will consist of:
- an evaluation of personal data (age, sex, activity level, projected life expectancy, occupational considerations) of the individual.
- an evaluation of any fitting problems or bony deformities specific to the individual's needs which would affect the frequency of prosthetic/orthotic restoration.
- an analysis of the phases of development of the individual (i.e. initial, active, and geriatric).
- a determination of the yearly costs of prosthetic or orthotic service(s), repairs, softgoods, and maintenance of the product(s).
